Sunset

“Sunset” is a simple landscape that is one of my favorite subjects to paint.  As I look at the painting I picture it at dusk and that the birds are returning home.  Years ago I painted a similar painting called  “Heading Home”, a theme that everyone seems to relate to.  Even the birds head home after the day’s end.  As I look at  these landscapes I feel a peaceful calm because the sun is going down in the West, and all will settle down to rest.  The sky is getting darker now,  and the only light we have will be from the moon. A peaceful calm comes over the world.  This paintings  is painted on clayboard using encaustic beeswax techniques.
