The Abandoned
When “The Abandoned” was sketched out it was going to be a church, but I struggled with it and realized that I hadn’t drawn the perspective right. I ended up making an old abandoned building, which I like just as well. I left a lot of natural space in this painting to give it a special effect. The Abandoned features greens and whites to create a winter scene on the forest edge which were added to further lend to the feeling of abandonment displayed by the empty cabin. 12 x 12...

“Fall,” is one of my paintings that I painted after a long period of not painting. I have seen other artists use bold colors which is something that I would like to incorporate into my work more often. It is good to get back to my painting. We just finished an art tour for Los Ranchos. That helped get back in the mood of painting. People had a lot of questions about the how I paint with the bees wax . They also received a history lesson, along with the info. So much Fun!! If I can...

This is another small painting that I have done recently. It is just something that I did without really thinking about it to much. I pictured the end of the day , even though you don’t see any animals, I picture them getting settled in for the night. So I would say it was a very peaceful feeling. It is a small painting but it has a lot of feeling to it. Bayou features trees, birds and marsh land in tones of yellow and brown with some touches of blue. 8×8 Wood panel, Beeswax...

This is a black and white painting. I picture a dark canyon with the moon creating shadows and light. The night is forever changing as the shadows and light change with the moon’s movement. It creates a feeling as if you are there having a spiritual experience. If you listen closely you will hear the sounds of the leaves moving gently in the trees. 9 x 12 Paper, Beeswax

We had just moved to Albuquerque when I painted this painting. My feelings and thoughts were of missing my friends that we left behind. I decided to do an underwater scene , which is one of my favorite themes to paint. When I finished this painting, I saw several friends in it, so this became special to me. I know this is an underwater scene, but I see at least four ladies with hats on with their arms around each other. 11 x 14 Clayboard,...
