I painted this wax painting after traveling across Louisiana. I loved seeing the moss hanging from the trees. While in New Orleans, we made side trips to the local area and I was so impressed by the bayou landscapes and trees that I encountered. Upon my return to New Mexico I was describing those environments to friends and my excitement caused them to demand that I paint what I remembered.
I imagined a cabin with a river outside the forest edge.
I used blue, orange, brown and yellow wax in this painting.
